Larimer Distinguished Citizen Dinner

Join us for The Annual Larimer Distinguished Citizen Dinner and support our local youth through the Adventure West Council, Scouting America, serving the communities in Fort Collins and all surrounding areas.

Honoree: Gordan Thibedeau

Gordan Thibedeau was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Arvada. Gordan joined the Army in 1964 and went on to serve in Infantry, Artillery, Aviation and Special Forces units over 28 plus years of active military service. After retirement in 1992, Gordan became the Executive Director of Partners of Larimer County, a youth mentorship organization and served in that capacity for 4½ years. He then joined United Way of Larimer County where he served as the President & CEO for a little over 19 years. He retired from United Way in September 2017 and now has volunteered with a number of community organizations including as a Board Director for Veterans Compass of Northern Colorado, Group Chair and instructor for the Northern Colorado Group of the Colorado Mountain Club and a driver and board chair for Meals on Wheels Fort Collins.
 

He holds a Masters Degree in Business and a Masters Degree in Non-Profit Management and is a graduate of the Army War College and of the Center for Creative Leadership. Major accomplishments while at United Way include merging of the Fort Collins United Way and the United Way of Loveland Berthoud and Estes Park, the funding and building of the Murphy Center for Hope, the creation and approval of 2-1-1 Colorado and co=chair of the long-term recovery support for the fire and flood in Larimer County. He also served for 17 years on the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce.
